The Office of the District Attorney is responsible for prosecuting criminal cases on behalf of the people. We work alongside law enforcement, victim advocates, and community partners to ensure that justice is administered fairly, efficiently, and without favor.
Our attorneys handle thousands of matters each year — from violent felonies and organized crime to juvenile cases and appeals. In every matter, we are guided by the facts, the law, and a duty to the community we serve.

About the Office
Meet Jonathan A. Mercer
Jonathan A. Mercer serves as the District Attorney, leading the office with a steadfast commitment to justice, transparency, and community safety. With more than two decades of legal experience and dedication to public service, he oversees all prosecutorial efforts and ensures the fair and impartial application of the law.
Prior to his election, District Attorney Mercer served as a court-appointed special prosecutor and as Chief of the Major Crimes Bureau, earning a reputation for integrity, prosecutorial diligence, and the protection of victims’ rights.
